A Virtuous Woman!

My mother and me!

I'd like to take a moment on this Mother's Day to say how grateful I am for my mother. She has truly been an example to me and I feel privileged to be her daughter. Through the years no matter what has been going on in my life, there has always been the knowledge that she loved me and that has been a continual source of strength.

From the time I was very young (and that was a long time ago!) she has always encouraged and supported my various activities. She has been present through countless concerts, performances, etc. both for myself and for my children. She has always been willing to listen and was genuinely interested in hearing about even the smallest details of even the smallest events in my life. She's cheered with me during times of great joy, laughed with me during those inevitable funny moments, cried with me during times of sorrow and comforted me when I was afraid. I can't imagine my life without her. She has loved me through thick and thin, teaching me what it truly means to be a mother.

But most of all, she's taught me what it means to be a Daughter of God, not just from the receiving end, but from the giving side as she tries to follow His commandments and to honorably live as Heavenly Father would want her to. She loves Him and she's not afraid for you to know it. I love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day!
