In the Doghouse! :-)

According to Ken, I'm in the doghouse! :-)

Yesterday, we had a problem with our alarm clock. Somehow the sound had been turned down and Ken was late getting to work. Not the best idea with the lay-off climate out there. As he left, he asked me to check the clock and figure out what had happened.

We are actually using a new alarm clock. We had been using one Ken had when we got married and it had finally quit working after 35+ years. :-) The new one was a little confusing to me so as I checked it out, I was pushing buttons and turning dials trying to figure out what happened. After discovering the sound had been turned off, I reset everything and felt reassured. Unfortunately, I missed that I'd turned on both the 1st and the 2nd alarm. Since we had never set the 2nd alarm, it was still at its default setting of 12:00 midnight!

Can you see where this is going?!? At midnight the 2nd alarm setting went off. Ken promptly got up and started getting ready. He didn't want a repeat of the day before and was determined not to be late again. He showered, got dressed, got his lunch and headed out. As he was backing out of the driveway, he looked at the car clock and it read 12:30 am! In shock he checked his watch and sure enough, it was 12:30. With a sigh he came back in, got undressed and came back to bed. Just a few hours later (4:45 am) the correct alarm went off and he got up again. It was a l-o-n-g night, to say the least!

Oh no! I've done that. I usually make the mistake of am and pm. My alarm is set for the correct time, just 12 hours off!

I'm shocked it only took him 30 minutes to shower, get dressed AND make a lunch! Boys have it so easy.

That is hilarious!!! I am laughing my head off right now!! I'm surprised he didn't check the time as he was getting ready. But, I guess since he is used to getting ready in the dark, midnight looks just like 5 a.m. Funny, funny, funny!!

How hilarious! You made my day. I needed a good laugh and so did mom. I think I've done that before. Who set the alarm the next night? I love your blogs.

Love,
Linda and grandma

Tee-hee-hee! It's so good to know that we're in good company with our little boo-boos.

It reminds me of when I was a child of about 10 years old. It was Christmas Eve and we were tucked into bed early. After what I thought was a good-night's sleep, I awoke, got dressed in my frilly Christmas dress and got my sister up. When we got upstairs my Mom and Dad were still in the midst of playing Santa. I guess we'd been asleep only a couple of hours!

It is terrible to say that I am laughing so hard right now! I would have never been able to go back to sleep again. Poor guy. It will be a great story for years to come though!
