Today was the big day! By the time you read this, Tammy will have arrived in California. She was able to call and we talked for just a few minutes. The airport had been very busy so we barely had time for a hello, I love you and a goodby but it was wonderful to hear her voice.
After the call, I was reminded of something Tammy has kept on her dresser for the last several years. It really sums up the commitment she has made.

She is a remarkable young woman with an incredible testimony of the gospel. She will truly stand as a witness of Jesus Christ during the next 18 months. We love you, Tammy!

Hopefully neither one falls in love with California to the point of wanting to move back and call it home...Although, it is much closer than NY. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of them!
I know it's hard to let go, but she will be a fantastic missionary. We all need to follow the advice on her dresser.

I'm thrilled that wee will be able to hear of all the great things she it going to do.
