In spite of my best efforts, I’m slowly being buried in paper!!! It never ceases to amaze me that in this supposed enlightened day of computers and paperless billing, we are each inundated with paper!
My mailbox is full no matter how hard I’ve tried to eliminate the never-ending supply of junk mail. How on earth do they find me! Every week brings an avalanche of new offers and catalogs from companies I’ve never heard of, all trying to convince me this is the LAST mailing if I do not order soon. IF ONLY THAT WERE TRUE!
If its not catalogs, its medical stuff! The other day I received two duplicates of forms in the mail that have already been sent twice by our insurance. And yesterday I signed 6 different forms at two different offices. Regardless of the nature of your appointment, you’ll be asked to sign a small mountain of papers – perhaps their privacy policy (that particular form is cutting down a small forest all by itself), or insurance billing, promises not to sue, etc. etc. etc.
The list is endless: receipts, bills, tax papers, statements, etc. – sometimes I’m positive a paper elf has gone through my house leaving paper stacks on every available flat surface! If the decor appealed to me, I could wallpaper our family room with papers in only a few weeks! :-)
I have an ongoing goal to find the top of my desk and I’m going to win that battle one day! The other day my sister, Linda, and I made a vow to each other that one way or another we would sort through all our papers. So, if you don’t hear from us again, come looking for us – and if you can’t find us, just check under the papers! :-)
NOTE: To "Opt-Out" [decline] offers of credit or insurance so they no longer come in the mail, you can follow this link to an official online site that connects to the three major credit bureaus. We have done this in the past at our old address and it worked great. It is definitely time for us to do it again at our new home!

Haha...your post made me laugh because it is so true! Although, sometimes I feel loved when I see a nice stack of mail in my mailbox (doesn't matter that I throw it away - it just makes me feel important)
You need my kids to come help you shred. I'm sure the excitement of that little chore has long since worn off for the twins.
If you ever find a way out, let me know! haha Oh how nice it must have been to be in the day when a handshake and a big fat chicken was all you needed to go to the doctor!
Oh, yes ... I relate well. I have so many files that all my papers won't fit any more. The other day I cleaned out all my church files and tossed out those ancient mimeographed handouts that can no longer be read. Of course, I replaced them with the masses of new articles I'm constantly printing out.
And then there is all the scrapbook paper and art paper and calligraphy paper and notebooks filled with page after page of quilting patterns and stitchery patterns and family history information. It NEVER ends!
I admit it. I love paper and have a fetish for it. I'm sure there is no cure.
