This trip was filled with many wonderful firsts including our first cruise! With a seven day cruise of four of the islands, we were excited to see as much as possible. We were glad we arrived in Oahu a few days before we set sail, allowing us to settle in a little to the new time change.
When we approached the dock to check in, we felt a little overwhelmed. Our ship wa
s HUGE with more than 13 stories! We felt like we were going to be sailing on a small high rise! :-) Our stateroom was on the 7th floor which was a step up from the smallest rooms (no window). We had wanted to be able to see out so we'd chosen a small upgrade. We couldn't help smiling, though, since the lifeboats were also on the 7th floor and effectively blocked most of our window. :-) We couldn't see the ocean but at least a little light leaked through! As you can see, the quarters were pretty tight, but since you were usually only in the room at night, it didn't seem to matter.
The ship had numerous restaurants and we tried most of them. This particular cruise emphasized casual dining so most of the restaurants accepted shorts and jeans but a few required dressing up. One night Ken invited me to dress up and go on a date! :-) It was great fun but the waiter was a little confused when we declined the many wine choices and the champagne bucket. :-)
One of the floors had shops and if you didn't mind the exorbitant shipboard prices you could go on a major shopping spree! I'm afraid my frugality kicked in and my shopping was confined to post cards but it was fun to window shop!
We enjoyed several of the nightly shows, including a wonderful magic show and a night of Polynesian music and dance. Along with 2 pools and 4 or 5 jacuzzi's, the ship included a full library with more books than my local bookmobile and a computer room where you could enjoy the computers (at 75 cents a minute - gasp!)
The ship traveled at night and usually came into each island between 7-8 am each morning. Ken claimed it was like being rocked to sleep each night. The motion was a little disconcerting to me and if we were walking around I sometimes found myself grabbing a handrail to anchor myself. Surprisingly, there were handrails along almost every wall. Hmmm
We made a few friends and even met some people from Honeyville! It really is a small world. :-) When all was said and done, we loved the cruise and had a great time!

WOW! How fun! It looks like you guys had a great time. I love cruises!
I think I would get a little claustrophobic in that room! The ship sounds incredible.
